132 500 the only number you need for your SES
Queensland is no stranger to wild weather but finding help during times of disaster can be confusing and sometimes frustrating.
In Queensland, the State Emergency Service (SES) is the primary response agency for storm and flood emergencies and provides support to other emergency service agencies.
The SES in Queensland consists of over 8000 volunteers, across 356 Groups.
From July 1 2007 Queensland joined the National SES 132 500 Telephone Network.
132 500 is now the only number Queensland residents need to call for help from the SES during floods or storms.
The 132 500 telephone number is now the primary point of contact for the SES in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and now Queensland.
In a life threatening emergency residents should still call Triple Zero (000) but if assistance from the SES is required call 132 500.
