"7NEWS South East Queensland Survey" Promotion
Terms and Conditions
By entering the "7NEWS South East Queensland Survey" competition, you are agreeing to the
1. Standard terms
1.1 Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry.
2. Who can enter
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2, entry is open to all residents of South East Queensland where the Channel Seven VHF signal from Mount Coot-tha and the Channel Seven UHF signal from Bald Knob is received.
2.2 Employees and their immediate families of Seven Network (Operations) Limited and their
associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.
3. How to enter
3.1 The competition commences on Wednesday 8 August 2007 at 12:01am AEST and concludes on Friday 24 August 2007 at midnight AEST (the "Competition Period").
3.2 To enter, eligible residents of South-East Queensland must complete and submit the 7NEWS South-East Queensland Survey published on the 7 NEWS website
(www.yahoo7.com.au/queenslandnews) by midnight AEST Friday 24 August 2007, including all compulsory fields as marked on the survey.
3.3 Entrants may enter the competition only once.
3.4 Entries must be received by midnight AEST on Friday 24 August 2007.
4. Prizes
4.1 There will be seven (7) major prize winners. Each major prize winner will win:
1 * Soniq 7'' Portable DVD Player $149 including GST.
Total major prize value is $1043 including GST. Prize value is correct as at the date of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate date on which the prize is received by the winner.
4.2 There will be thirty (30) minor prize winners. Each minor prize winner will win:
1 x Seven News branded Caltex StarCash fuel card to the value of $20; and
1 x Seven News branded Caltex StarCash fuel card to the value of $50.
Total minor prize value is $2100. Prize value is correct as at the date of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate date on which the prize is received.
4.3 Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions, all other expenses become the
responsibility of the winners.
4.4 In participating in the prizes, the winners agree to participate and co-operate as required in
all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winners (and their companions) agree to granting the Promoter a perpetual and exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winners (and their companions) will not be entitled to any fee for
such use.
4.5 The winners agree they will not [and will ensure that their companion does not] sell or otherwise provide their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
4.6 Prizes can be transferred but not redeemed for cash. Winners should seek independent
financial advice about any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings.

5. How to win
5.1 Seven (7) major prize winners, and then thirty (30) minor prize winners will be drawn at random from the pool of entrants. Each entrant who has entered the competition over the duration of the competition and registered all details required ("Qualifying Entrant") will be entered into the draw. Major prize winners are not eligible for the minor prize draw. Both the major and minor prize draws will take place at the studios of Channel Seven Brisbane, Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, Mount Coot-tha Qld 4066 on Tuesday 28 August at 11:00 hours AEST.
5.2 Major prize winners will be contacted by telephone between Tuesday 28 August 2007 and Tuesday 4 September 2007. If the Promoter is unable to contact a major prize winner by telephone by Tuesday 4 September 2007, that major prize winner will forfeit their prize and there will be a re-draw. Major prize winners will either be able to collect their prize from an
address nominated by the Promoter, or will have their prize posted or sent via courier to the address they registered when entering the competition. Major prizes will be delivered no later than 31 October 2007.
5.3 Minor prize winners will be notified in writing and their prize posted to the address they registered when entering the competition no later than Tuesday 11 September 2007.
5.4 The Promoter's decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.
5.5 It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and prize supplier's requirements.
5.6 It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner (and any companions) may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
5.7 Should any prize and prize letter be returned to Channel Seven, and if Channel Seven is unable to contact the prize winner within five (5) working days of receiving the returned mail, there will be a redraw and the prize will be awarded to another Qualifying Entrant.
5.8 Only one (1) prize can be won per Qualifying Entrant.
6. No liability
6.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter's ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and
recommence it from the start on the same conditions.
6.2 Seven Network (Operations) Limited & affiliates, and their associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
6.3 Seven Network (Operations) Limited & affiliates, and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur:
a) during the draw;
b) whilst undertaking any travel won on or connected with their entry into the draw; or
c) in the participation in any prize;
d) as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
e) due to the broadcast of any program relating to the competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person;
f) in relation to failure of an entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion;
g) arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any computer equipment, software, internet connection, any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer software related to or resulting from participation in this promotion;
6.4 Seven Network (Operations) Limited assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
6.5 If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition
7. Promoter's details
7.1 The Promoter is Seven Network (Operations) Limited (ACN 052 845 262) of Level 2, 38-42 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont, NSW 2009.
7.2 Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. Seven Network Limited (ACN 052 816 789) and its related entities ("Seven"), is collecting the entrant's personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this competition (including but not limited to
determining and notifying winners), and, if you consent, for the purpose of Seven sending you promotional and direct marketing material in relation to Seven's programs and products and services available through Seven and its business partners. The entrant may request access to his or her personal information by writing to The Privacy Officer c/- The Legal
