Originally from Perth, Simone Knox graduated with an Arts degree from the University of Western Australia before travelling overseas for a year.
She returned to Perth in 2002 and completed a Post Graduate diploma in Journalism from Curtin University.
Like most first year journalists, Simone had to move regionally for her first job.
She worked at the Broome Advertiser for a year in Western Australia's North, before crossing the country to Far North Queensland for a job as the court reporter with the Cairns Post.
Since joining Seven in March, 2005, Simone has had the opportunity to cover some of the region's biggest stories, including the Lockhart River air tragedy.
She was first on the scene in Innisfail after Cyclone Larry tore though – and kept the nation informed with regular updates as information about the destruction filtered through.
