Christian's career has always been about sport. After a promising junior career in rugby league and cricket, he eventually chose to watch, rather than participate for a living. From the age of 15, Christian gave up his weekends to work in the Channel Nine newsroom in Sydney.
Christian’s first job was at Pay Television sports channel 'C7 Sport' where he worked as a reporter and producer and presented a nightly cricket program, 'Howzat.' After his time at Pay TV, Christian then accepted a position with Network Seven, Sydney as a sports reporter. His stories regularly aired on the nightly 6pm bulletin as well as on Seven's highly successful morning program 'Sunrise.'
Christian's knowledge and love of sports journalism led him to accept work as a reporter at SBS where he found his niche on the half hour sports program 'Toyota World Sports.' This role involved on-camera work as well as producing. Christian also gained work at ABC television news, Sydney and worked regularly in the ABC sports department.
Christian's career hasn’t been exclusively devoted to television. A stint at Sydney radio station 2UE proved an exciting change. Whilst there, Christian read the news bulletins, produced the evening sports program as well as the weekend rugby league show.
Having grown up in Sydney and worked in the most sought after television market in Australia, Christian decided to re-locate to Cairns to establish the sports department for Seven Local News. The change of scenery and lifestyle were motivating factors persuading him to join the Queensland 7news team in beautiful Far North Queensland.
