Kylie Hodge returned to the Sunshine Coast in April 2006 as a Senior Journalist, after working across the state for Seven Local News.
Most recently Kylie was at the helm of Seven's news service in the Wide Bay – spanning from Bundaberg in the north to Gympie in the south – producing the nightly bulletin and covering events and issues on the Fraser Coast.
Born and raised in Gympie, she knows this part of the world well, and understands the importance of local news in regional centres.
In fact, while at Gympie high school, Kylie had her first taste of television journalism as a work experience student in the newsroom where she’s now based.
At just 15, she knew her future was in news.
An international reporting trip through Europe was a highlight of her Bachelor of Journalism at the Queensland University of Technology, before she was appointed as a cadet in Seven’s Mackay bureau.
It was there she learned the reporting ropes.
In her free time Kylie loves surfing, swimming, playing touch and reading.
