Chris Pace is a sports fanatic who now steers the highly successful Seven Local News team on the Sunshine Coast.
Born and raised in Mackay, Chris was educated at St Patrick's College, and played representative rugby league, soccer, and cricket at school and club level.
After high school, Chris completed a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) degree at the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba.
From there he spent a year working at News Limited in Sydney before returning to Mackay's Daily Mercury newspaper for two years during which time he also played 'A' grade rugby league.
In 1994, Chris broke into television and moved to Maryborough as the then Sunshine Television's Wide Bay sports. Four years later he moved to the Sunshine Coast newsroom as a sports reporter and back-up sports presenter.
In 2001 Chris took on the challenging role as producer of the Sunshine Coast bulletin meaning he is responsible for the entire look and production of Seven Local News.
Chris lives on the Sunshine Coast with his wife Natalie and 2 daughters, Alanah and Sasha, and has an active lifestyle - golf, touch, surfing and gym keeping him busy and healthy.
