Louise Milligan started with Seven News Sydney as State Political Reporter in October 2004.
She began her reporting career at The Australian newspaper as a cadet journalist in Melbourne.
Moving to Sydney in 2002, Louise's first assignments were in education and the aftermath of the Bali bombings.
She also wrote a series on the crippling effects of Australia's drought.
Louise then moved to court reporting. As the newspaper's High Court and Legal Affairs Reporter she covered the trials of murderers Kathleen Folbigg and Sef Gonzales, the inquest into the death of Janelle Patton on Norfolk Island and stockbroker Rene Rivkin’s insider trading conviction.
Born in Ireland, Louise graduated as dux of Emmaus College in Melbourne and completed a Law/Arts degree at Monash University.
Louise was awarded Honours in Politics for a thesis in International Relations.
She then completed a Graduate Diploma in Journalism, with distinction, at RMIT.
