Melody Horrill joined the Seven News team in April 2004, as weekday weather presenter and journalist.
Before joining Seven, Melody worked for the Ten Network for five years. She produced and presented three one-hour documentaries for the Ten Network on various environmental issues, also working as fill-in weather presenter and features reporter.
During her time at Ten she was offered a one month traineeship with The World Report at CNN's Atlanta studios in the US, where Melody presented one of her documentaries to an international audience, worked as a journalist and read a news bulletin for the CNN International News. She also underwent intensive training in reporting and presenting.
Prior to joining Ten, Melody worked for the Nine Network for two years as environmental reporter, after working freelance for the ABC for 12 months.
Melody began her news career working freelance for Central Television in Whyalla, SA, and co-presented a national lifestyle program called The Wine Show for the Ten Network.
Melody has always been active in presenting environmental issues and co-founded the Australian Dolphin Research Foundation after completing her university education.
Melody has won a KESAB award for her environmental awareness work.
