Phil Black joined Seven News in 2000, becoming a senior producer of the Sydney 6pm bulletin before moving to the reporting team.
Phil's television career began in 1995 at the Nine Network in Sydney with three years researching and travelling for Getaway. He moved to the newsroom as a writer for its website and spent two years working overnight as a producer on the morning bulletins.
As a general news reporter Phil's stories cover a wide range of subjects across Sydney including the CityRail crisis and the Redfern riots.
Phil produced parts of Seven News' 2002 Walkley Award winning coverage of the Christmas Bushfires.
In December 2004, Phil reported from the island nation of Sri Lanka which took the full force of the Boxing Day earthquake and tsunami.
