Hi all,
Drew and Belle have had a big bust-up, and Drew’s left town, and quit school, which I’m not too pleased about!
Leah told me they had a big falling out over the article Belle wrote about me for her paper. It was quite a scathing piece, but I know it didn’t come from Belle, she wouldn’t write something nasty like that! It was her editor Gavin trying to put a different spin on things, that’s tabloid journalism for you, they sensationalise everything. The headline read, “sacked principal leaves school in crisis”. I didn’t leave anyone, I was forced to stand down by the Department of Education. Well my friends know the truth so I’m not worried but it has made me focus on my future and what I want from life.
Anyway… the knock-on effects of this article have been dire for Drew and Belle. Leah said they have been having troubles for a while now, with Drew being concerned about Belle’s morals since she started working for the paper. He thought she was selling her soul for this job and sacrificing their relationship at the same time.
Apparently Belle just didn’t see it the same way as Drew did. She saw it as a chance to really build her career, to do a bit of dirty work now for the sake of her long-term goals. And she just wanted Drew to stand by her. And I guess in the end he couldn’t turn his back on his own beliefs which I do understand. But quitting school… I think he’s just really angry right now, upset and really confused. I hope he hasn’t ruined his own career prospects over this.
And to tell you the truth, I’m a bit annoyed that he’s walked out on Leah at a time when she needs support around her. She needs a house full of people rather than an empty one. That worries me.
Mr Bartlett came to see me the other day. I didn’t expect to see him at my front door so I was a bit put out at first, considering he took my job as Principal away from me!
He came about Miles. He wants to offer Miles a position as teacher at the school – now that was a shock. I was demoted to a desk job and Bartlett takes my position as Principal, and then asks me to ask Miles if he wants a position at my old school as teacher! I’m sorry, but I had to keep my mouth from hitting the floor and my temper from rising to the ceiling! I think Bartlett was taking a bit of a liberty, don’t you? But… I agreed to do it because if you take me out of the equation, being offered a teaching job is a great opportunity for Miles! It will be a fresh start for him. But that Bartlett… well he’ll get his comeuppance one day!
So that’s good news for Miles. He has decided to take the job.
Miles is a little worried however about how to handle students like Aden being disrespectful to him, considering how he turned up in Summer Bay in the first place. I want to do the protective sister thing and have a word to Aden, but that would just add fuel to the fire. Knowing Aden it would make him more determined to cause strife. I better just leave it to Miles to sort out, he’ll be fine, I hope!
I’ve got some goss… I heard through the grapevine that Roman and Martha went on a hot date. Roman went to dinner at Martha’s but Irene told me Morag was Martha’s chaperone! But once things were all comfortable between the pair Morag realised three was a crowd and made a quick exit, saying she was going to get coffees. She ended up down at the diner for the rest of the evening to give them some space. I do like Roman. He seems like a really decent guy. Maybe this is the one for Martha.
Something is up with Sam. Rachel told me she is behaving really odd and that Jack is really concerned about her. Rachel confessed to me that she has been feeling suspicious about Sam’s involvement with Johnny. I didn’t know what she was talking about really - Sam saved Ric’s life! So I told Rachel that Sam was probably under a lot of stress, after all her actions did kill a man! Not a good man, but it would play on your conscience.
But then Rachel told me something terrible.
Apparently Johnny was murdered! Rachel also thought Sam was under a lot of stress but then they found out that Johnny was murdered, and that Sam was at the hospital at the same time. Nurse Julie was questioned, but the police were convinced she had nothing to do with it so she was let off the hook. So the police questioned Sam.
Rachel said Sam saw a strange man at the hospital at the time, but she couldn’t remember anything about him. So they did hypnotherapy on her to jog her memory.
And Rachel is even more suspicious now than she was before.
In the end we both agreed that Sam must not be thinking straight because of the stress she is under.
She really needs to tell the truth. I’m very shocked about this.
Well let’s hope Sam starts feeling better soon and the truth comes out. Poor Jack must be going out of his mind with worry.
