Hello Everyone,

The year has started off with just as much drama as it always does. Rachel was attacked by Reverend Hall, it's just unbelievable. He attacked her in her home, and bound and gagged her while ranting about the Lord and doing his work for him by punishing women who have strayed from the righteous path. How frightening for poor Rachel. She was lucky, Reverend Hall had a fit during it all and Rachel was able to get on the telephone and call for help. Thankfully, she was saved - not by Reverend Hall!

Reverend Hall is under police surveillance at the hospital as he's apparently suffering from a brain tumour. This is believed to be the reason he has behaved the way he has! They say the tumour can interfere with the normal workings of the brain and trigger off sociopathic behaviour. It's been a very difficult situation for everyone to be in, a pillar of society doing something to hurt others, it's just so out of character. I hope Reverend Hall gets better and returns to his normal self soon. I feel for Annie and Geoff who are desperately trying to hang on to their beliefs despite what has happened.

Silly Belle, I think she genuinely thought she was doing the right thing to get the photo she took of Reverend Hall published in the paper she works for. She wasn't in possession of the full story and her actions have caused public outrage. Poor Annie is devastated. The church was vandalised because of the article.

Well I'm sure this will be a good lesson learnt by Belle. She's better than that, I'm certain she doesn't want to turn in to just another hack journalist who puts her career ahead of her ethics. She'll have learnt a big lesson from this experience. Well I hope anyway, she is so talented I couldn't stand seeing her throw her talents away so cheaply. I heard Morag came down hard on her, and in front of Drew. There is something strange going on there. I'm not sure why Dom being in hospital is having an effect on their relationship but Drew seems upset that Belle was at the hospital in the first place? Someone overheard their conversation about why she went to see Dom. I don't blame Drew, I don't know why Belle would want to visit Dom? It seems like a bit of trouble is brewing there if you ask me.

There was a man in my patio the other night, looking in on the party we were having for Ric's 20th birthday. He was just a stray, someone down on his luck looking for some food. It was odd but for some reason I wasn't concerned at all. I just had this really strong feeling that he was okay. Seeing a strange man at my back door should have worried me, but it didn't, not in the slightest. I probably shouldn't have snapped at everyone like I did, especially as it was a celebration for Ric, but it annoyed me that everyone was quick to judge this man when they don't know anything about him. He looked kind. He's probably just down on his luck. I think people are just edgy because of the whole Reverend Hall fiasco.

Rachel thinks I should see a therapist. She is concerned I'm having trouble dealing with everything that has happened in the past. Maybe I should. The whole 'Milco' thing has thrown me. It probably won't do any harm to talk to someone who doesn't know anything about me. Maybe I will work through it and find a logical explanation to what I saw!

Sam and Jack are back, they appear really relaxed and happy although I'm not sure how long that will last. I'm sure if Martha steps out of line Sam will put her back in her place very quickly. Sam appears to be very comfortable in her position as Jack's wife, and also very willing to take on anything that tries to mark her territory.

Talking of lovers not meant to be.... Ric told me he and Mattie are over for good this time. He appeared upset but resolute. It seems like he has really turned a corner in his life. He just seems older, wiser. I guess that's life, things happen and we make mistakes and although some lessons can be tough and so painfully hard, we move on to find a stronger sense of who we are.

Love to all.

Sally.
