Hello Everyone,
It seems that as the wedding draws closer, the whole scene becomes more complicated each day. This week Henk dropped in to Summer Bay a little earlier than expected. As he is definitely confirmed to be the best man, he wants to help out with the plans and catch up with the gang again.
Rachel seems really distraught over his early arrival, especially seeing as there is clearly a rough history between them. I heard that she asked him to not come to the wedding, but he obviously paid no heed to her warning.
Rachel is so uncomfortable with Henk that she seems edgy around Brad, like she really wants to tell him something. Brad is ignoring her negative vibe towards Henk and instead is trying to push Henk and her together, trying to convince her how much Henk has changed.
Rachel must be feeling the same frustrations that I am, because everything that isn't according to Brad's plan is in one ear and out the other. Even Henk isn't agreeing with Brad, but Brad is in his own little bubble at the moment. Sometimes I feel like Brad isn't listening to his fiancee, his sister, or his best man just so the plans in his head aren't spoiled. I wish he would just wake up sometimes...
Henk is staying in Martha's spare room, as Matilda just moved out to concentrate on her HSC exams more. It's good that someone is there to support Martha, as Sam is now trying to completely break off connections between her and Jack.
I bet that Cassie wishes that he was staying closer to her, though, because she seems to be interested in him, despite the age difference. I wish she wouldn't do that...Cassie is so much younger than him and Henk carries baggage with him, having been with multiple people already in Summer Bay. She could definitely do better than him but she's looking through rose tinted glasses.
Geoff is now living with Tony since Bruce kicked him off of the farm. While he is away, Annie is expected to pick up his workload around the farm, and its taking a physical toll on her as well. The farm is too big of a burden for the two to handle, especially with Bruce's deteriorating health.
It seems like Bruce's heart condition has spread to his head, as he clearly isn't thinking straight anymore. While forbidding Annie to leave the house, even for a tutoring session, he held Lucas and Annie at gunpoint, taking them hostage inside the house. Luckily Tony and Geoff were attentive to Lucas's whereabouts as they rescued them from inside. Bruce was so crazy as to even shoot at Geoff and Tony! I know that Bruce is upset about the poisoned sheep...but shooting at his own grandson? I'm glad that the kids are now living with Tony, but Bruce is a danger to himself.
Belle and Drew aren't going so well, mainly because Drew is having so many problems of his own and is trying to keep it to himself. Denni has a vendetta against Drew over Lisa and is taking his anger to the streets. Drew tried to pull out of the drag race, but Denni is using Drew's car as leverage to partake in the race. I can't imagine this ending well at all...illegal activities mixed with tempers and grudges never sit well...
With Tony's suggestion, Jazz invited Belle, Drew, Dan, Leah, Brad and me to drinks at her house. The thought was nice, but the night was definitely awkward, as conversation was forced. Belle and Drew's fight was a clear cue to leave. Poor Jazz...she actually tried to make it work. Maybe next time...
On a sweeter note, Colleen tried to show me and Brad a generous gesture by baking a beautiful cake as a surprise. Through some mishaps, the cake was dropped. It was the thought that counted, and we at least got to munch on the salvageable parts as dessert.
Mmmm...now that I'm thinking about it, I'll go snack on some more of that cake before Brad gets to it.
Love, Sally.
