Hello Everyone,
I’m very concerned about the attack in the Bay this week. Julie was assaulted in the car park at the hospital, and I hear there are very few leads in the investigation. My distress increased when I found out McGrath discovered shattered glass from an intentionally broken light, right where Julie was attacked. The assault had purpose behind it and I can't help but wonder who would ever commit such an act?
I'm fairly certain it wasn't the new guy in town, Dom, who ended up playing the hero for Belle when she lost her wallet and Jazz’s pendant after a concert. But just as her and Drew are starting to form positive impressions of him, I can’t help but think otherwise. There’s something fishy about his character that I can’t put my finger on yet…
Jack actions were investigated after Shane’s death and instead of turning to Sam in such a troubling time, he turned to Martha instead. I know that Jack just didn’t want to worry Sam about the matter, but she became very defensive and demanded that he either pull back on his friendship with Martha or she would leave him. Jack gave in to Sam, but Martha didn’t take the news well at first. Martha was eventually the bigger person by seeing the whole picture: that Sam is still afraid for her future and needs all the committed support (from Jack) that she can muster. I can't help but think it's not entirely fair on Jack...
Annie was very distraught over the mysterious poisoning of the breeding sheep in their barn. Another crime with no resolve in the Bay area makes me feel a little uneasy. Bruce openly suggested (with no evidence) that Aden committed the crime and so Annie scuffled with him in the school corridor, demanding answers about his alleged involvement. I decided to give Annie a relatively lenient punishment as a result of the confrontation and to speak to her grandfather about the matter. Mr. Fisher encouraged a harsher punishment, but I thought that wasn’t necessary due to the difficulties at home.
Bruce actually encouraged Geoff and Annie to go out together one afternoon this week but I understand both were suspicious because he's rarely that kind or thoughtful. It was luckily I needed to go to their house to speak with Bruce over Annie’s school truancy because I found him lying unconscious on the floor with a loaded shotgun nearby. He had experienced chest pains and had been unable to find his heart condition medication because Geoff and Annie had accidentally knocked it out of the locked cabinet earlier. Bruce made Rachel and I promise not to divulge to Geoff and Annie about his condition. I feel like he should be more honest with his grandchildren, especially over important matters of health...
There seems to have been so many negative instances recently and my relationship with Brad isn’t helping the dismal situation. Brad constantly asks questions and wants details of the wedding plans. He is pressuring the whole event so much, and I want this to be a special planning time for us, not an event where I try to evade his questioning.
I don’t know why he is in such a rush. A long engagement really appeals to me, but I’m not sure how to tell him my feelings on this yet or if I will ever have the chance. In an awkward social situation, he probed about the wedding date, and I had no choice but to agree to it. I want my wedding to be on the date that’s ideal for both of us, not where he has to practically trick me into agreeing to a date. I can't help but think that maybe this isn’t right for us, but I'm sure we'll work something out.
I just want to take a step back from all of the events of this week and have some time to myself to relax. Hopefully next week will be more uplifting...
Love, Sally.
