Hello Everyone,
I am stunned, I really am. Brad had a meeting with the Education Department over the Naomi Preston affair and the outcome was not a good one. I was concerned that he was taking the Education Department’s investigation into his handling of the whole thing a little too casually. But he assured me it was only a formality and I wished him luck...
Luck was not on his side however and he ended up facing a full panel and was on the receiving end of some aggressive questioning from Dr Lang. He’s been suspended from his position as school principal, pending further investigation into his conduct. I just can’t believe it’s come to this – Brad did what he thought was right but unfortunately the Department didn’t see it that way.
Of course, this is all because of that newspaper article in the Coastal News earlier on in the week which revealed all about Naomi and Luc’s history. Colleen – surprise surprise – overheard Jack talking to Brad about the affair and she blabbed about it to the newspaper. Tony was certainly not pleased! He tore strips off her and blamed her for the article’s negative impact on poor Luc. I can understand Tony wanting to take his anger out on someone and I would probably be the same if it was one of my kids.
Very rarely do you see the Holdens arguing but I did see something a bit odd at the school after the news broke. After his English class, I saw Luc and his dad having a bit of a spat and things seemed pretty heated. Something’s definitely up between those two, I mean, they’re usually so close. Then again they’ve both had a tough time of it lately so I guess things are bound to be a bit tense.
Especially as Jack tells me that he thinks that Naomi putting her own pride before the welfare of his family has been damaging. He believes it’s not just about her career at stake here, but Luc’s future and his relationship with his family. His words seemed to have had an effect on her as she gave Brad a letter of resignation, having decided to leave the Bay. Of course, the damage had been done now, and all we can do now is hope that Luc will pull through and that Brad will get his job back.
Little Matilda was pretty silly this week. She thought that Ric was cheating on her when she saw him with some other woman. But it turns out that the woman had altered Beth’s engagement ring so that Mattie could wear it in return for Ric fixing her car. I think Mattie’s starting to realise that whatever happens in life, he’s there for her.
Excitement for Kim and Rachel this week as they seemed to have enjoyed their romantic night in the city and came back with a bit of interesting news – they want to try for a baby! It’s exciting news but my heart goes out to poor Hugh. He was shocked by their decision and told Martha that he has now accepted that there’s no future for him and Rachel. The poor guy…
Enter someone else who seems put out by their announcement – Kit! She’s decided that she wants to go back to the city so she can finish her degree and secure a safe bright future for Archie. I get the feeling there’s a lot more to this than meets the eye. I heard her and Rachel wound up having a huge row with them both slinging all kinds of accusations at each other. The whole situation just seems to be getting messier and messier as time goes by!
Poor Dan has been struggling recently to deal with the unruly kids in his house, especially as Leah hasn’t been around. Drew’s been giving Dan attitude about finding a job while Jules has been teaching Ryan how to use a sling-shot! It’s a good job Leah came home a day early, she soon had them straightened out when she insisted on Drew taking a job at the Diner. It’s so nice to have her back – I’ve really missed our girly chats.
One nice surprise was followed by another when another familiar face showed up in the Bay – her brother Alex! He certainly seems to be ruffling some feathers already – namely Jules. He’s been trying to win Cassie round for as long as I can remember and even took to hiding semi-naked in one of the caravans to surprise her!
Oh, what is that boy like? Unfortunately he later overheard Cassie and Alex retelling the story to Belle, and in a bid to get even he took off with Alex’s bike. Jack questioned everyone about the missing bike, which meant Drew ended up lying for Jules – again. But Drew later reconciled with Belle who made him realise he shouldn’t be covering for Jules any longer. He told Dan the truth about what happened to the bike. Jules may not like it, but he defiantly did the right thing.
That’s all for this week, I’m meeting Leah later so we can catch up on everything that’s been going on while she’s been gone!
Love, Sally.
