Hello Everyone,
My, what a week for Summer Bay High! We were all left reeling after hearing the revelations about Naomi and Lucas. I knew something was up with him after I heard about his night of drinking and I was sure that it was a sign of a bigger problem. I mean, there’s teenagers having a few drinks and then there’s drinking yourself into oblivion! I had no idea it had anything to do with Naomi however, who would’ve seen that coming?
Plus it did seem a bit odd that she didn’t jump at our offer of a full-time position – Brad was sure that she was hiding some dodgy reason for it. And of course, he turned out to be right when we both found out about Naomi and Luc’s history from Jack. Brad has spoken to both Naomi and Luc and although it might seem as though she hasn’t broken any rules, I’m unsure if Brad’s right to be relaxed in his handling of it. It may well all blow over but I still think he should cover his back.
Also, Irene’s also told me that Tony has moved out of his place and is dossing at hers for a while. She didn’t really give me a straight answer when I asked her why so I thought I’d better leave the matter for now. I wonder if maybe he and Luc have had some issues over this whole Naomi affair?
Drew’s been having some issues at school recently too. He’s not doing too well in his classes and is falling behind badly. I feel sorry for Dan having to deal with it all, especially as Leah isn’t around at the moment. So he banned Drew from having his party so he would stay in and do his assignments. But with friends like Jules around, it seemed like the idea of calling off the party was out of the question…
So of course they all got sprung and Dan came down on Jules and Drew like a tonne of bricks. Alf didn’t seem too pleased either about having to tidy up the beach after the kids’ party. Dan was livid and grounded Drew, quite rightly I think. He kept him behind at school to get him to catch up on his schoolwork.
I know it might seem like Dan is being heavy handed but I suspect that this might be what Drew needs, what with his Dad not being around anymore. Unfortunately it all backfired when there was a mix-up at the school with one of Drew’s assignments and so he decided to drop out of school! I really hope he reconsiders, this could be a decision that he regrets for a long time.
Rachel and Kim are still having problems it seems. I heard about Kim covering up a photo of Rachel in his wallet with one of him, Kit and Archie. They sorted it out in the end when Kim realised that he’s been neglecting his marriage recently. Apparently they’re thinking of spending some time away which I reckon will do them the world of good.
And I hear Hugh is thinking of heading off to South Africa which I think would be a good thing for Rachel too. Martha filled me in on Hugh telling Rachel his true feelings for her. It’s all getting quite messy now! The two of them having been living in each others’ pockets recently so some space would probably help them to clear their heads a bit.
That’s all this week, Colleen wants talk to me about some story she’s writing for the newspaper!
Love, Sally.
