Hello Everyone,
Can life get any worse for Amanda? It seems impossible, but this week Ryan almost had a serious accident. Amanda wasn’t home when he was dropped off after a birthday party, which is unusual, she’s normally quite responsible when it comes to Ryan. Anyway poor little mite thought he would make himself some toast, but apparently it got stuck. He was just about to stick a knife in the toaster, when Dan rushed in and threw himself across the room to save Ryan from electrocution. Dan was furious with Amanda and I hear that he now wants full custody of Ryan.
We have all been worried about Martha for a long time now, and believed that Cam and the Rocket Club were bad news. Well the Police conducted a drug bust on the club, Jack said he was sure there were drugs on the premises. What shocked everyone was the discovery of drugs in Martha’s bag. I can’t believe she is involved in drug dealing, but I seem to have lost the ability to communicate with her these days, which is so upsetting as we used to be very close.
Cassie and I were making dinner last night and she was telling me all about the new guy in town. She said Drew’s mate from boarding school, Jules Munroe just turned up on his motorbike and started flirting with Belle. I had to laugh, he probably picked the wrong girl, as Belle is never afraid to speak her mind, so she put him in his place very quickly. However, she said that Lily seems quite taken with him.
It was action stations at the Baker household on Wednesday. Leah had a call from her brother Alex in Greece saying he’d been arrested for possession of a prescription medication containing codeine. Of course Leah immediately booked a flight to go and help him but she only had 2 hours to get ready. Brad and I rushed over to pack VJ’s things, whilst Peter put the washing in the dryer and Dan searched for Leah's passport. It was quite funny seeing everyone running around in a state of panic, whilst VJ was completely oblivious to it all and just carried on playing with his truck on the table. Finally, everything was done and after hugs and kisses goodbye, Dan took them both to the airport. I wonder if Leah will try and bring Alex back to Australia so that she can keep an eye on him.
Just when I thought Lily was starting to trust us, we had an incident at her birthday party.
She was feeling a bit sad because she thought her mum would have called to wish her happy birthday, so the gang jumped into action and organised a cake and few people to come round to the house. Jules turned up and was fooling around, which she didn’t seem to mind, but then he tried to kiss her. She just wasn’t ready for it, and apparently, Ric stepped in the punched Jules in the face. I was very angry and disappointed with him, as we have talked so much about his hot temper. By the time Brad and I arrived home Lily had decided that she couldn’t live in the house and be around such anger, so she booked a cab and moved to the hostel. Ric of course is full of remorse and feels terrible.
Ryan had an accident down at the beach whilst Amanda was drinking wine instead of keeping an eye on him. And her growing reliance on alcohol has also really damaged her relationship with Belle! Amanda had promised Belle that she would curb her drinking but sadly let her down again by getting drunk and passing out in their living room! She seems unable to hold herself back, I just hope she can stop the drinking before it’s too late.
On a lighter note, according to Irene, Colleen is still rabbiting on about being barred for life from the Bowls Club and she tried to play cupid with Hugh and Julie, when they came to lunch at the Diner with Kim and Rachel. I could be wrong but I sense that Hugh is very troubled by something, he seems quite tense around Rachel at the moment.
‘Tense’ describes our father to be Kim Hyde. Kit’s water’s broke this afternoon and after all the false alarms, you would think Kim would have been calm and in control, but I saw him rushing around in a complete state, trying to get Kit in the car.
So, I’m expecting a phone call soon to say come down to the hospital to meet our newest resident of Summer Bay, I just hope Beth gets there in time, she has already landed and is on the way to the hospital.
As soon as I have any news I’ll let you know.
Love, Sally.
