Hello Everyone,
The happy reunion we were looking forward to with Alf had a bitter taste to it as we had to explain Martha’s absence to him and what she’s been up to recently. Needless to say, he was furious! And I though he was angry when we told him about her moving out… I tried to stop him but he went round there to confront her about her new job and to order her to come home. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t work, and out of frustration he ended up threatening to evict her!
I’m so worried about the affect this will have on Martha, we can’t risk alienating her any further – she needs to find her own path and realise the choices she’s making aren’t good for her. I explained this to Alf and so he went back to apologise to her, and whilst he was there he ended up meeting the infamous Cam. Of course, Cam turned on the charm for ‘Grandad’ but Alf’s no idiot, he could see right through him.
Jack’s been spending more and more time trying to help Martha out. After he was called to a disturbance at the Rocket Club, he discovered that the type of people Martha is now associating herself with are involved in drugs. He even took one of Cam’s previous ‘girlfriends’, Paige, to see Martha in the hope of showing her the truth about Cam. Paige told Martha about Cam’s drug dealing but he obviously wormed his way out of that one as Martha stood by him. So, Alf and Martha are no longer on speaking terms and she’s slipping further and further away from us, it’s breaking my heart…
Also, the dramatic events of Peter and Amanda’s wedding still appear to be unfolding. Drew thinks Peter should confront Amanda but personally I reckon Peter’s still in shock. Added to that, the humiliation of the way he discovered Amanda’s infidelity can’t be easy to deal with, the poor guy. Of course, it’s not just Peter who’s been affected, both his and Amanda’s children are also struggling to deal with the aftermath of the disastrous wedding.
Leah told me about what happened in the Diner when Colleen gave Belle her resignation letter. Apparently, all hell broke loose with Belle and Colleen at each other’s throats over the way Amanda treated Peter. Poor Belle, it can’t be easy having everyone judge her mum like this and having to keep defending her actions.
Her relationship with Drew is still on the rocks after he found out that she knew about Amanda’s infidelity, and so refuses to talk to her. Leah’s pretty concerned about he’s reacting to the situation, maybe he should take some of his own advice and listen to what Belle has to say. After all, he’s no saint himself…
Peter was beside himself after Amanda’s car accident as he believed he had caused her to crash. Everyone was so relieved when she came round and Dan said it seemed like the ice may have started to thaw between her and Peter…
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be - we were all shocked by her blood test results which revealed she’d actually been drinking! I know she’s not in the best frame of mind right now but to put not only her own, but Ryan’s and other road users’ lives in danger like that is completely irresponsible. Quite rightly Peter arrested her, I hope she learns her lesson.
Thankfully Kit is ok after her ordeal and James was getting the treatment he quite clearly needed. James apologised to Kit but she made it quite clear that he wasn’t to have a part in her or her baby’s life. Rachel tells me that after this, James ended up doing a runner! Kit was worried that he would do something silly but at the end of the day she made the right decision, she has the welfare of her baby to think about.
I hear she’s just a bit unsure over whether she can cope with being a single mum now. I also hear that Kim and Rachel are still arguing, what with Kit and the baby being at the centre of their lives once again…
I’m glad Cassie hasn’t had any more contact with Lily, and it’s nice to meet her friend from the city, Ruby. She seems like a lovely girl, if a little shy. She seems a bit tense too, I guess that’s what city life can do to you.
Anyway, I’m going over to the Diner to see how Colleen is doing after her disqualification from the bowls competition, I hear she took the news pretty badly!
Love, Sally.
