Hello Everyone,
My, what a dramatic week! I'm still shocked by the awful turn of events
at Amanda and Peter's wedding. It had all started off so wonderfully. Amanda
looked absolutely stunning in her dress and the two of them looked blissfully
happy together as they exchanged their vows. It was just like a fairytale -
except sadly the ending turned out to be not so happily-ever-after.
I knew that dodgy-looking guy Ethan was bad news, and I had my suspicions confirmed when he humiliated Amanda in front of all her family and friends this week. He turned up at the wedding and asked us all to look under chairs where he’d taped photos of himself and Amanda in bed together! Both Amanda and Peter were horrified and I don’t think anyone else noticed but I could’ve sworn I saw Kelli smiling to herself after everyone saw these photos.
And there was something suss about the letter Amanda received from her mum about why she couldn’t make it to the wedding. I know that I certainly wouldn’t dream of missing any of my kids’ wedding days, not even for some amazing job opportunity!
I was also absolutely devastated to discover the truth about Martha’s job at the Rocket Club. I am mortified that I hadn’t seen how Martha’s situation with Cam had spiralled so far out control. I’m at my wits end and have no idea how I should be handling all of this. I’m just grateful that I’m not the only one who is concerned for her, we’re all feeling the same way.
After Peter’s Buck’s Night when the boys were confronted with the reality of Martha’s new life, Ric, Brad, Tony, Jack and I visited her and tried to make her see sense. I begged her to come home but she wouldn’t budge. Things were pretty intense and we wound up flinging criticism and blame at Cam. Which, in retrospect, was probably a bad move as it only made her more defensive and less open to our trying to reason with her. What are we to do?!
In other news, I hear James nearly made a fatal mistake at the hospital again this week. Rachel confided in me that she wasn’t sure whether to report him or not but I think she made the right decision. He clearly needs help, especially after that episode of barricading Kit in their house. What on earth was going through his mind?! As a nurse, he of all people should know not to upset a heavily-pregnant woman like that.
It’s a relief that Kit and the baby are ok. It’s just such a shame that James has let her down like this, he seemed like such a nice guy. It might also put more pressure on Rachel and Kim’s relationship as Kim will probably feel more responsibility to take care of Kit. He just needs to be careful that he doesn’t neglect his relationship with his wife…
Cassie was feeling a bit frustrated at how slowly the help-line was taking off, but when this young girl Lily rang after hours, Cassie shouldn’t have answered the phone – she’s not a qualified instructor. We appreciate that she only wanted to help, but Dan and I had a word with her about it so I think she’s learned her lesson.
So, all-in-all it’s been a pretty crazy week! But with a bit of luck next week might be a bit less hectic, you never know…
Love, Sally.
