Hello Everyone,
Some good news this week, Brad is now one of the family! I was a bit worried about how the kids would react to our relationship developing so quickly, I was hoping they wouldn’t think I was trying to replace Flynn in any way. But they love having Brad around and they all think he’s a great guy. It was lovely to come home to find him cooking with Ric, Mattie and Pippa, I’m so lucky to have found such a wonderful man.
One person who wasn’t over the moon with Brad moving in was Martha. It wasn’t his fault, but Brad let slip that he knew about her abortion and she had a huge go at me. I honestly don’t know what to do, there’s just no way of being reasonable with her and she won’t tell me what’s going on in her head. You can only help someone if they want to be helped but she seems stuck on this downward spiral.
We met her boss/boyfriend Cam and I must say I have my reservations. He certainly turned on the charm and Brad seems to think he’s a decent enough fella but I’m not so sure. After everything that she’s been through with Ash, the last thing she needs right now is a new relationship. And she seemed quite shaken up that evening, I wonder how that new job of hers is going…
Onto other news, I hear the kids had a blast at the photo shoot for Cassie’s nude calendar. Everyone was a really good sport getting involved, even those who were a tad shy… After all, it is for a good cause. Unsurprisingly, Colleen wasn’t exactly keen on the idea but she came round in the end, even helping to bronze the guys up! Unfortunately, tensions between Belle and Drew and Lucas reaching boiling point and the shoot ended in a bit of scuffle between Drew and Lucas.
Tony tells me that Lucas is not dealing with things as well as he’d have everyone believe. I know what it’s like to lose someone you’re close to but it’s especially hard when you’re young. It must be torture for him to see Drew and Belle together but at the end of the day, he needs to deal with his feelings in a more positive way. I have no sympathy for him lashing out at Belle and Drew at the photo shoot – violence certainly never solved anything. And neither did running away from your problems and Lucas’ attempt to leave town was a silly thing to do, where would he have gone?! He should focus more on his writing - I hear it’s pretty good.
You know how I’ve had my suspicions about Kelli? Well, there is definitely something fishy going on. The arrival of the guy from the cocktail party has upset Amanda for some reason and Kelli’s still acting funny, especially as she’s started being super nice to Belle. But still, Amanda and Peter seem very happy so as their big day draws closer, I just hope nothing happens to disrupt the wedding that they deserve.
There seems to be trouble in paradise with Kit and James. A little birdie told me that James came all too close to making a fatal mistake at the hospital this week. I hear he has a drug dependency but Kit assured me that he has given up smoking - I hope he doesn’t let her down. After all, it’s not just herself she needs to worry about but her unborn baby too. I hear Kim was pretty angry when he found out, especially as he’s been feeling left on the sidelines when it comes to the baby as it is. I certainly wouldn’t want drugs anywhere near my children.
Tony told me that he found Jack trying to track down Sam and Rory for one last goodbye. I can understand why he wanted to do that, although it did jeopardise Sam and Rory’s safety. I hear they shared a sad farewell but at least Jack has some closure now and hopefully they can all move on with their lives. Maybe one day Sam will be able to return to Summer Bay, who knows what the future holds…?
Well, that’s all for this week. I’m off to buy a hat for Amanda’s wedding next week!
Love, Sally.
