Hello Everyone,

Ric’s out of gaol!

Cassie, Matilda and especially Lucas took some awful risks this week, but their plan to prove Ric’s innocence worked and now he’s back home where he belongs. I’m so happy I could jump.

It all started when Ric rang Alf to tell him he thought one of the prison guards was in Johnny’s pocket. Alf rang the gaol governor who wouldn’t have a word of it, so Cassie, Matilda and Lucas took it upon themselves to try and get Ric out.

Lucas dressed up as one of Johnny’s gang members (complete with a tattoo painted on by Mattie) and went and told the corrupt prison guard that the gang member responsible for Rocco’s death was going to the cops. The guard told Johnny. of course, and Ric had someone follow him to the phones where he made a call to this gang member telling him to stay cool.

Ric managed to get a name - ‘Jase’ - and passed this on to Cassie, Matilda and Lucas who went straight to Detective Peter Baker. Peter didn’t think it was enough, but a heartfelt plea from Alf changed his mind and after a bit of digging, Peter arrived at Jase’s house.

Jase tried to make a run for it, but the police caught him and then found a piece of blood-stained cloth in an incinerator. DNA testing showed it to be Rocco’s blood. This was enough to bring in the corrupt guard and he promptly spilled the beans.

Prison authorities were then notified just in time to save Ric from Johnny and his gang. He was informed his release would be fast-tracked and was put in the infirmary to be ‘safe’. Poor Ric wasn’t safe at all because somehow Johnny managed to get in there and started beating up Ric, but some guards showed up and pulled him off. Ric was then finally given back to us.

And now it’s all over. Johnny has been stopped. Ric’s home. I can’t tell you how relieved we all are that this whole mess is behind us.

Now, on to other news…

Martha continues to be really distant to us and I’ve just found out that Tony caught her drinking on the job. I’m really worried – I’ve also heard she spent the night with some guy called ‘Cam’ who is apparently quite a dodgy character. I just can’t seem to connect with her anymore, I know she’s having troubles, but she doesn’t seem to want to talk about it with anyone and now that Alf’s left to visit his sick sister overseas and Jack’s busy with Sam and Rory, I’m concerned about what’s going to happen to her.

Amanda seems troubled at the moment as well. She’s about to get married, but I hear she’s feeling really guilty about something. Like I mentioned before, I think her sister, Kelli, is up to something and I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s playing games with Amanda. Someone told me that Kelli snapped at Belle this week, showing an unexpected side to her personality, but I wasn’t able to find out what they were talking about. My guess is Kelli and the man she’s been seen kissing are trying to set Amanda up and Amanda talking to Belle isn’t helping their plans…

The Hospital Ball was a raging success. Well, I certainly thought it was, but I might be a bit biased. My darling Brad did the most amazing thing that night. He recently inherited some money and announced to the town that the money would be spent on a new training fellowship to be named… The Flynn Saunders Fellowship. He is such a beautiful man to do that and I am so happy to be with him.

This new man in town, James, appears to be quite a special one too. He surprised an unwell Kit with some mineral water so she wouldn’t feel left out of the ball and I hear they’re going to try again at a relationship, even though Kit is pregnant with Kim’s baby. I think it’s wonderful and will hopefully take some of the strain off Kim and Rachel’s relationship.

OK, well, I’m off to play with Pippa for a while and hopefully have a chat with Colleen. Apparently she gave all of Sam’s details to some strange man that’s shown up in the Bay looking for her. I love Colleen, but really, she doesn’t have much common sense sometimes, Sam might not want this man knowing where she is.

Love, Sally.
