Hello Everyone,
You know how sometimes in life you’re proved to be right about something, but instead of making you feel good, it actually makes you feel awful? Well, that’s what happened to me this week with Cassie.
It turns out I was right about Macca. He hasn’t completely changed because he did the unthinkable and hit Cassie again. He didn’t want her to come back to Summer Bay from the city and he couldn’t control his frustration.
Brad and I went with Cassie afterwards to collect her things from their place in the city, only to find that Macca had already moved his stuff out and left behind a note. Despite what he's done, it’s sad in a way – for both of them – but Macca’s done the best thing by leaving without a fuss. Really, he shouldn’t be in a relationship again until he’s learnt to control his temper and he seems to have acknowledged that in the letter.
I can only hope it doesn’t take long for Cassie to move on and put Macca behind her, because moving on is something Martha’s been having a lot of trouble doing. The poor girl is really in a bad way at the moment.
We found out, somewhat accidentally, that Martha was pregnant to Ash and decided to have an abortion. Jack was over here, trying to help her as she’s been drinking a lot lately and acting recklessly, and that’s when she blurted it out. We just wished she’d come and talked to us, but she seems to be rejecting everyone – although Jack seems to be getting through to her, if only a little bit (and I can tell you now, it’s at something of a cost to his relationship with Sam).
And I hear now that Kit has been having trouble leaving an ex behind as well. Apparently she was going out with a nurse called James, but when she found out she was pregnant to Kim, she promptly ended the relationship. Now James has shown up in the bay as the new nurse at the hospital and was amazed to discover Kit here and pregnant!
The poor lad knew nothing about it, but from what I can gather is still very keen on Kit and would like another shot at a relationship with her. He seems like a nice guy and Rachel likes him and it seems Kim has talked Kit into giving the man another chance. Between you and me, I think Kit having a new man in her life will really help the situation with Kim and Rachel. I’m a little bit fearful for their future.
I’m also a bit fearful for Lucas and Belle. On the surface they seem to be getting along better than ever and a little birdie has told me that they recently took their relationship to the next level, but I’m concerned that Belle has done that for the wrong reasons.
I just can’t help but think Belle really wants to be with Drew and his new relationship with Lisa is making Belle do things she wouldn’t normally do. Like sleeping with Lucas so suddenly just because she thought Drew and Lisa had (and I hear she’s just discovered that they haven’t yet). The longer this drags on the more likely people are going to get hurt. Lucas and Lisa especially.
Well, I best be off. Colleen’s somehow talked everyone into to helping with the preparations for the hospital ball and I think I should chip in. You know, I wonder if Amanda will be there. Haven’t seen much of her lately or her sister, whom I’m sure is up to no good. If she is, I hope Amanda catches her out soon. I like this new Amanda we’ve been seeing lately: much less selfish and a whole lot nicer.
I also want an early night tonight so I can go and see Ric first thing in the morning. We found out this week that Johnny’s been transferred to his prison – don’t ask me how such a thing could happen – and while Ric’s playing it down, I have no doubt Johnny would be giving him a hard time. We will get him out eventually, I know we will.
Love, Sally.
