Hello Everyone,
It’s so good to finally be home and sleeping in my own bed. I can’t tell you how emotional I felt when I opened the door and saw all my friends and family beaming back at me. Cassie, Matilda, Ric, Morag, Alf, Leah, Dan and Rocco, all gave me a wonderful welcome home.
Martha was a bit late arriving and was in a real spin about Ash. She confronted Morag accusing her of interfering with her relationship. Morag tried to calm her down but she was unstoppable. She said Morag wouldn’t have a clue about what it’s like to be in love, to trust someone and standby them no matter what. Morag quietly let her know that she does know what it’s like to be hurt by someone you care for very deeply. But Martha didn’t let up and stormed out leaving Morag on the verge of tears.
Leah filled me in on the news of the week. I was shocked to hear that Belle had been kidnapped and that Amanda’s sister Kelli had turned up out of the blue on the very same day. What an amazing coincidence. I understand that Kelli helped the police track down where Belle was being held, because she heard the sound of a train in the background on the recording of the telephone call.
I know Drew felt very guilty for letting Belle get into a strangers car after the party. I’m always telling my kids to be careful, you just never know who you can trust.
Alf had me in stitches when he told me about Colleen’s matchmaking at her Hawaiian party. Poor Betty, she really put on her best performance by all accounts, but Alf had to tell her he wasn’t interested, she was devastated and rushed out in tears.
I was feeling a little fragile myself when I was waiting for Brad to pick me up from the hospital. I was putting on my watch and necklace and then looked at my wedding ring.
I felt a rush of emotion, but felt it was time to move on. Alf popped in and I explained my decision, but at the time I didn’t realise that Brad had heard my conversation. He was suddenly very abrupt and I knew something was wrong. Luckily Rachel caught up with him on the beach and in her wonderful Rach way, re-assured him that there is no pressure on him to take off his wedding ring until he is completely ready.
She gave me a hint about what was troubling Brad, and I told him that I understand that Emily is still in his heart and that Flynn will always be in mine. He gave me a beautiful smile and kiss and now we are fine again.
Leah just came round for a cup of tea and she was telling me how difficult the situation is with Rachel, Kim, Kit and the baby. She told Rach to focus on the fun stuff like their honeymoon plans. So Rachel rushed off, very excited and gets straight onto the travel agent and places a booking for March 14th. When Kim got home, she gave him a glass of champagne but saw he was excited too. She asked him how the ultra-sound went and would you believe the next one is booked for March 14th!
Poor Rachel she is trying to be understanding and Kim thinks if she is more involved with the baby, then she won’t feel so left out. I’m not sure that’s the answer, but we’ll see how they go.
Seeing Kit pregnant has stirred up some emotions in Beth. Apparently she told Kit to savour every moment, because before you know it, your kids grow up and you can’t get that time back. She was thinking about how young she was when she had Scott and that she never had time for new experiences or travel while she was a mother. Kit encouraged her to go on a trip, but the idea has unsettled Tony at bit, he can’t understand why she would want to go.
Mattie, Ric and Rocco are still at the Surf Club playing pool, and I am going to have a rest. I have started getting a few flashbacks about that awful night and to be honest I really don’t want to remember what happened. Perhaps I feel better when the kids get home.
Love, Sally.
