Scott is 27 years old. He was born of the land and it's part of him. As the oldest kid, Scott was always the "chosen one" in his family. The farm was never terribly successful, but Scott's Dad, Jack (who knew Alf some 30 years ago) believed that Scott was the person to fulfil all his dreams.
Scott went to the city to attend university, where he studied engineering and design before returning to the family farm. His affinity for the land is boundless and he loved the farm that his father left to him and his siblings. Scott's younger sister Kit and his mother Beth, ran the farm while Scott tried to build another business to supplement their income. When Beth married Rhys Sutherland, the family made a tough decision to sell the farm and move on with their lives.
Scott is intelligent, with a dry laconic wit and a love of horses. He rode into Summer Bay on his white stallion, which left Dani Sutherland breathless, here was her 'knight in shining armour'.
If Scott has a failing, it's that he is too quick to see the good in everybody and this can often set him up to be hurt easily. When Hayley becomes pregnant, Scott doesn't realise Baby Noah is his. Although Scott is deeply in love with Hayley he steps aside for Kim, believing him to be the father of Hayley's baby.
Although Hayley struggles with her love for Scott, she and Kim make plans for their wedding, but at the last minute, Hayley cancels the wedding. She runs away and Scott goes in seach of her. When he finds Hayley, she is in labour and he helps deliver her baby boy.
It is discovered that the paternity test for Hayley's baby was sabotaged at the hospital and that Scott is the father, and not Kim. So Scott, Hayley and baby Noah are a family at last. Scott and Hayley say farewell to Summer Bay at baby Noah's christening party when they leave to live in France
