Hi all,
This week has been full of so many ups and downs. For the Den, things really did not go well. Our grand opening had a horribly embarrassing turnout, but at least the Diner's grand opening was an amazing success. I’m really proud of Roman and Irene for pulling it off, especially as Irene has been spending all of her spare time in the hospital with the young boy Oliver who she found last week.
I found out why The Den had such a bad night for our party. Nicole threw a house party at the exact same time and all the teens in the area went there instead. That explained all the mysterious texts that were being sent out right before the kids left the place empty. Roman figured out a new punishment for her, since grounding her didn’t seem to work, and now she’s putting in some work here washing dishes. I guess you can’t win them all though, and Nicole did give me a very sincere apology for taking my customers from me on my big night. I still can’t help being frantic that we might be out of business before we even get started. I miss Dan so much; I just wanted to create something that would make him proud.
Matilda and Belle were really supportive while I was upset about the turnout. It actually made me realise how little I’d been seeing Mattie around. I thought maybe it was just school and getting ready to go to uni, but when I mentioned it to Belle, she briefed me on why she really hasn’t been around.
Apparently Ric got himself in some really deep trouble. He had an affair with Viv Anderson five months ago that led to a pregnancy. Her husband blackmailed Ric into participating in illegal fights, that almost killed him. Anyway, I’m just so surprised that for weeks all of this drama has been occurring in my friends’ lives and I didn’t even know about it. Poor Mattie has a big load to take on for such a young girl and Ric does too. They both are in an awful tough situation, thank goodness they made it through it all safely at least!
Irene has just told me that Geoff breached his AVO by seeing Melody at Nicole’s party. It’s awful; he only talked to her to end their relationship because he didn't want to risk getting a criminal record.
And as for poor Miles, he finally brought Jai home to the Summer Bay house and things were a little tense. Jai hardly says a word to anyone and is always in his own little world. Alf and Miles tried to talk to him on the wharf the other day, but he wasn't interested, then he stepped backwards and fell in the water. Miles thought he was drowning so jumped in after him. He said to Mattie later "I thought my head was going to explode, all my fears came back to me."
I hope being in the Bay will help him open up and see there still is light at the end of the tunnel. He could really make a home here, Summer Bay has a lot to offer and Miles is a really great guy to take him in. I hope they get things in line and on track very soon.
