Admit it – you were ready for a little bad boy action in the Bay, right? Well, you’re in luck, cuz this week heralds the arrival of Drew’s old mate from school, Jules! And it seems like he’s nothing but trouble…
Yep, as soon as Jules zooms in on his hot-to-trot motorbike (which we all know is standard issue of the bad boy), he starts doing what he does best: checkin’ out the lay-deez. His first target? Queen of the sharp tongue retort, Ms Belle Taylor! True to form, she doesn’t waste any time giving this cocky kid the brush-off, so it’s onto target number two for Mr Confident – Leah! Probably not gonna amount to match because as she points out, she’s married and probably twice his age…
But does this phase Jules? Nuh-uh! It’s not long before the floppy-haired fringe one has asked to crash at Drew’s place and is getting up to all kinds of shenanigans, culminating (of course) in a bit of biffo at the most inappropriate time. With who? And why? You’ll have to stay tuned to find out!
So is he a flirt without a cause? Or trouble of biblical proportions? And what just what is he hiding from Drew? Time will tell what the future of this cool new character holds, but unlike the irresponsible teen he plays onscreen, in real life, Joel is considerably more responsible.
In fact spend five minutes with Joel and you’ll be instantly at ease with his good-natured country boy vibe. Having been the school captain at Whyrallah Road Public School and Lismore High School, (where he graduated in 2003) Joel left Lismore for the bright lights of the city after he wrote, directed and starred in a short film called ‘Blunderboy’, which won him an acting prize and the chance to meet people who count. The move to Sydney saw him land some high profile commercials - recognise this guy from the Pizza Hut commercials? You should! Joel was even rejected by Home and Away’s casting agent’s for the role of Ric, before being offered the role of Jules – no audition necessary!
So far Joel’s been having a ball spending time in the Bay and ripping it up on a killer bike. But don’t get too complacent Joel, if we know the Bay, we’re sure the proverbial will hit the fan sooner rather than later…
How to Spot A Bad Boy:
1. Black, black, black. The boy has deep-seated emotional problems, and plus, colours are for sissies, alright?!
2. Wheels, wheels, wheels. Bad boys always need their own form of transport: how else can they make a smart exit after starting and ending fights, or giving lip to peeps? The only exit appropriate for a bad boy is in a cloud of smoke.
3. Girls, girls, girls. Hey, we’re only human, right ladies? The appeal of the bad boy is universal and timeless, like the sun, or the appeal of Kind Island Dairy Honey and Cinnamon yoghurt.
4. Smirk, smirk, smirk. If you’re thinking of entering the bad boy alumni, don’t even think about it till you have your own leather jacket and the art of the sexy smirk slash scowl down pat. It’s an absolute given, y’all!!
Why do you think Jules is in the Bay? Who would you like him hook up with? Email us your answers on homeandaway@seven.com.au
Kassandra: I think that Jules is in the bay because he is on the run from the cops and his parents have kicked him out. Jules should hook up with, NO ONE. Drew should see him for what he really is and turn him over to the cops.
Tamara: I think Jules is running away from a shocking past whereby someone was killed and that someone is probably the owner of the motor bike he's riding. While him and Lily seem to go well together I think they'd be better off remaining as friends. Down the track I wouldn't mind seeing him and suntan Queen Cassie hook up as it would make for an interesting game of cat and mouse with him being made to do the chasing and her playing hard to get.
Paige: I think Jules is in the bay because he's on the run from the cops. I think he should hook up with Martha, when she realises how Cam is using her and goes on an even worse downward spiral, becoming a serious bad girl. Jules couldn't resist a bad girl!
Jaimee: I think that Jules is here because he might want to get revenge on Drew or even get break Belle and Drew up so he could get Belle. I think that he should hook up with Belle or Lily.
Thanks I am a big fan especially of Indiana and Mark.
Jasmine: (15) I think Jules is in the bay because he's in some trouble with the cops, or he
may be having some troubles at home. Anyway I hope he hooks up with Belle
because i reckon it'll make an interesting storyline. But then again it'd
also be funny if he tried to (jokingly) make a move on Colleen.
Kayley: The new kid Jules should end up with Cassie because she is by herself and
she needs a new bad boy to be around.
Chloe: I think Jules is in the bay to cause some trouble. I think he should hook
up with Lily.
