Tell Us About The Last...

What did your fave stars get up to last?

Jessica Tovey [Belle]
Phonecall you made: To my mum yesterday. I’ve been a little bit sick… I missed the call and I called her back: she was checking up on me, making sure I was drinking plenty of water and eating right!
Great buy you made: I’ve been going through a really crazy CD fetish at the moment so I went to the CD shop and just went, ‘I don’t care how much it costs, I’m gonna buy every single CD I want!’. I got some really weird CDs – everything from Hilltop Hoods to Ween. You drive so much with the job that I need my music to keep me going. I have 100 CDs in my car – they keep me awake at 4am when you’re driving to a beach or something.
Time you cracked up laughing: Five minutes ago. If you ever need to laugh on a shoot you talk to Jason Smith, he’s the funniest person in the entire world! Even if you’re feeling crap in a scene, he just makes you feel so good.
Place you visited: I had a really, really lovely picnic up at one of our locations up at McCarrs Creek. I took a friend up there, it was really beautiful.
Great meal you had: I grew up in the Newtown area and there’s one café called South on King Street that I’ve been going to for years and they make a really good pizzeretta. Good coffee and very understanding people who let you sit there for hours and don’t bug you.
TV show or movie you got into: I saw Candy about a week ago and that film – oh, I love that film. I often don’t like seeing films that get a lot of hype because I feel like I’m going to be disappointed, but I wasn’t disappointed with that film. It gives you hope that Australia can make fantastic films with amazing actors and have a young Australian cast. I know Heath Ledger was on Home and Away, seeing him makes me go, ‘Yes I can actually go from here!’. I have an amazing job but even further myself. Plus every place they were in I knew – the restaurant where the last scene was set was a restaurant I’ve been going to since I was 6 in Marrickville. Half of it’s filmed in Newtown: the pawn shop where she tries to sell her paints is right next door to another shop I know.
Time you were asked for an autograph: I was chased by these girls in Glebe on the weekend – I was showing Bob [Drew] around Glebe and they chased us into a café. I think he got the fright of his life, seeing what he was in for in two months time! It was a bit of a wake-up call!

Lynne McGranger [Irene]
Phonecall you made: Was to my friend who lives up at Warner’s Bay to tell her that I probably can’t get up there this weekend.
Great buy you made: I bought this fabulous casserole dish at Peter’s in Kensington! I’m not much of a cook but Clarissa [Beth] gave me this great recipe for casserole lamb with dumplings. I thought 'I’m gonna make this', ’cause I’m strictly a chops and broccoli girl I must confess. I made the casserole - enough to feed a small African nation - but I made it and it worked out!
Time you cracked up laughing: My daughter has been making movies and television shows with her friend and they’ve been talking in that back-hills of Kentucky accent, and we were at the physio together and we were howling with laughter – she just makes me laugh so much.
Place you visited: Terrigal, this time last year. I’m going to England with the family at Christmas time to do a pantomime – Cinderella, I’m the Fairy Godmother.
Great meal you had: A few weeks I MCed a trivia night for the Smith Family out at the Ettamogah Pub in Rouse Hill and I had the best steak I’ve had in years! I was blown away.
TV show or movie you got into: I’m a huge 24 fan and a massive Desperate Housewives fan. As far as movies go Keeping Mum with Maggie Smith and Rowan Atkinson and Kristin Smith-Thomas, I love it, hilarious!!
Time you were asked for an autograph: Yesterday: I was at the Hillsong Conference; I was doing some volunteer work on FM103.2, the Christian community radio station. There eyes just bugged out when they saw me! I did a lot of autographing.

Indiana Evans [Matilda]
Phonecall you made: To my mum. I needed to ask her an answer for an interview about where my name ‘Indiana’ came from. It turns out my great-great Auntie; their parents came from Indiana to Australia and liked the name.
Great buy you made: This dress [Indie was wearing a cool nautical-style red dress!]. I bought it at Supre where my sister works so I got a discount.
Time you cracked up laughing: That’s a hard one, I don’t keep track of that! It would have been today… Oh Jason made me laugh!
Place you visited: Melbourne for the Logies.
Great meal you had: Just then Rhys and I went for lunch at a place close by in Eastwood which was good.
TV show or movie you liked: I want to see Pirates of the Caribbean desperately! I saw Superman but I didn’t really like that.
Time you were asked for an autograph: Does today on the magazines count? [Indiana had to sign ten copies of Girlfriend magazine right before our interview!]

Isabel Lucas [Tasha]
Phonecall you made: To my best friend Zoë.
Great buy you made: Stamps from the post office – I was writing a letter to Zoë, she lives in Melbourne. I always write letters.
Time you cracked up laughing: With Jase… Sometimes it’s hard, it’s that feeling of when you’re not meant to laugh, you’re on set with the crew but you’ve got this feeling, this connection with a friend and you’re trying so hard not too laugh…
Place you visited: Melbourne, to see Zoë.
Great meal you had: Gertrude and Alice in Bondi. It’s great. It’s like a bookshop café, it’s really cosy and really nice people run it.
TV show or movie you got into: Candy.
Time you were asked for an autograph: At a shopping mall.

Jason Smith [Robbie]
Phonecall you made: To my girlfriend Laura
Great buy you made: I got a cool painting, like a stencil sunrise painting.
Time you cracked up laughing: Day before yesterday on set – a dinner scene with Macca. I say you’ve gotta laugh – life’s too short to not have some fun.
Place you visited: Adelaide for a bit of publicity work. I was there for one day and did three radio interviews and four magazine interviews: in and out. I got a PSP out of it which was pretty good.
Great meal you had: Sabbaba in Bondi is great: great Israeli food: pitas and falafels. Very nice, very fresh.
TV show or movie you got into: Entourage. It’s a great series.
Time you were asked for an autograph: You name it! Actually today, just before in the green room, someone asked me: the nurse. It’s a 24 hour job.
