What happened in the week June 12 - 16, Eps 4206 - 4210

Hello everyone,

If last week was a down, I must say this week was an up. We’ve had our fair share of trying events but as usual, the tough Summer residents have come out on top, and that’s to be not only thankful for, but proud of too!

First of all I am happy to report evil Zoë is well and truly behind bars. I congratulated Peter on his heroic efforts in capturing her, to which he threw me a dark look and muttered something about this ‘not being over yet’, but honestly, I think that’s sleep-deprived paranoia talking. Zoë is being transferred to the city today – IT’S OVER! The final showdown happened at the old abattoir and poor Jack was even taken hostage at one point. I don’t how those brave boys do it – thank god we have them here. Even though I was initially suspicious of Peter’s decision to keep Zoë’s presence a secret from Bay residents, it looks like all’s well that ends well. Peter should just take a holiday and get over the trauma of the past few months!

Speaking of holidays it looks like one of my favourite couples will be taking one sooner than anyone could expect – Kim and Rachel are off to New York! Rachel was offered an amazing scholarship opportunity which, I hear from the very ‘knowledgeable’ (i.e. gossipy!) Colleen, she turned down because she didn’t want to leave Kim! Luckily through the loose lips of none other than dear Colleen, Kim got wind of this and assured Rachel not only would he move to New York with Rachel, but he’s do it as her fiancée! Now we have two upcoming weddings for Bay residents, but I have a feeling another couple will beat them to the alter…

Yes, gorgeous Martha and Jack have fast-tracked their Big Day to today! Mr Stewart left to pick Martha up just a few minutes ago I think I even saw a twinkle of a tear in his eye – I told him to save the waterworks for the actual ceremony, ha ha. After all the drama with Zoë I suspect those two just wanted to go ahead and tie the knot quick-sticks. Good on them! I haven’t seen the dress yet, but it’s sure to be amazing.

But it hasn’t all been sunshine and roses here this week – I hate to say ‘I told you so’, but my suspicions about Macca were dead-on: Ric and Matilda came to me this week and told me Macca has been hitting Cassie. I can’t describe the feeling I had when they told me but it was one I hope not to feel very often in my life: anger, fear, grief… Of course I bolted straight over to the Diner Apartment (where Macca’s been staying), only to find the brute was just about to do it again! Poor Cassie looked so scared, her beautiful face all bruised. I can’t remember exactly what I said Macca because I was so furious, but I think I made my point.

Even though it was obviously a sensitive situation, I was hoping Cassie would report the assault to the police, which she agreed to, but to my surprise he beat me to it. When Martha found out she was devastated and has all but disowned Macca, and Mr Stewart had to chase after Ric to stop him and Macca coming to blows. But thankfully that’s all over now – Cass told me Macca has left town, but only time will tell for how long.

Speaking of Ric it seems his relationship with Belle is over – I have a feeling she was getting a little tired of Ric’s on-going attention to Cassie. Personally I feel this is a little unfair as Cassie definitely in need of the care and concern of her loved ones right now – but from Belle’s point of view I can understand how this may seem Ric’s feelings for Cassie have entirely dissipated. I guess we’ll have to wait and see on that one.

OK, time to stop writing and go to Martha and Jack’s wedding. Word is the reception has a ‘country theme’ – sounds like Martha alright!

Til next week,
Love Sally
