Martha looks gorgeous? And Jack's so hot! We’ve got all the dirt on the Wedding of the Year.

Costume designer Shelley Murray explains how she created the look for Martha and Jack’s romantic country-themed wedding

The Look for Martha:"Simple and linear, not too decorative with a barn dance country girl style. I wanted her to look fresh and frocked up without looking too girly."

The Look for Jack: "Jack was much more classic looking, showing off the very different ideas that Jack and Martha had for their wedding. He wore a black three-button suit, with plain front pants, a white shirt and off-white tie. The groomsmen wore matching burnt orange ties which was the same fabric as Martha’s underskirt."

The Dress: "The bodice was off-white suede, unusual fabric for a wedding, however this suited our tough country girl. The skirt was raw silk which was gathered and full with a ruffle around the bottom, for her barn dance gig. The feature was a suede belt with vintage buckle also very appropriate for Martha’s look. Under the weighed skirt I used a burnt orange underskirt which was a great backdrop for her cream and orange cowboy boots. Clarissa Grace did the exceptional job of putting it all together for me. Their bodice was the perfect shape for Jodi Gordon and the workmanship was impeccable. Clarissa also worked on Tasha’s wedding dress."

Bridesmaid Dresses: "They had to be something that Martha would chose and wear herself. They were again simple, with a natural fabric – cotton. The burnt orange is a colour Martha likes, and tied in with her underskirt and cowboy boots. Tasha was pregnant so the dresses had to suit her, as well as Cassie and Matilda. I used leather belts with beaded vintage buckles to tie in with Martha’s dress. Tasha’s belt sat above her prominent belly to emphasise it and the other two were waisted belts. The dresses simply fell from the bust in an A-line - the belts were the features. I threaded ribbon through simple lace to give a more formal feel and to make them feel a little more like young country girls. The dresses were originally from Seduce."

The Hair: "Tousled with a natural soft wave. A styled messy catwalk look. It was partly pulled up and back at the front, off centre."

The Bouquet: "It was a tonal mixture of orange, yellow and red Singapore orchids with bronzed magnolia leaves, surrounded by dried dodder vine."

Did You Know? Because of the fire in the barn, Shelley had to make two identical dresses, one clean and perfect, and one sooty and ripped. You wouldn’t wanna mix those up!
