What happened in the week June 5 - 9

Due to popular demand, Sally’s Diary is back! Check in here every week to see what Sal thinks of all things Summer Bay… Email your feedback to homeandaway@seven.com.au

Dear Diary,

Wow, what a week in Summer Bay – I barely know where to start. As usual our tiny little town seems to receive more than its fair share of drama and crisis, but writing it all down helps me stay on top of it all, so here goes.

Let’s start with Creepy Charlie (as he’s become known around here – I think Ric coined the phrase). I always got a funny feeling from him when I saw him talking with Kim and Rachel - he seemed a bit clingy - but when they filled me in on the full details, I was shocked! Basically Rachel met Charlie when her Mum went walkabouts during a picnic, only to find her having tea with an old lady who lived nearby (Rachel’s Mum has amnesia).

Being the Superdoc that she is, Rachel convinced the old lady to come into the hospital for some tests, and invited her grandson Charlie, her carer, to spend some time with her and Kim – Rach has a heart of gold, bless. Well that turned out to be a huge mistake! Charlie ended up becoming obsessed with Kim, because he never had any real friends of his own, and went so far as to administer an extra dose of morphine to his Gran in order to keep her in the hospital so he wouldn’t have to go back to being her full-time carer. Tragically the extra dose put his Gran into cardiac arrest and she died – but then Charlie pinned the death on Rachel! Poor Rach had to go before the hospital board to convince the doctors of Charlie’s instability, but apparently he was doing the same thing to Rachel, telling the doctors it was Rachel's mistake and that she was in love with him (now to be honest I don’t know how they could buy that – Kim is a fair sight more of a catch than Charlie, but anyway).

Things only got worse when Charlie kidnapped Rachel, forcing Kim to enact some sort of weird Boys' Night in the surf club with him. Luckily Kim heard Rachel’s cries for help next door in the gym and saved her – not before pushing Charlie over, causing his lung to collapse. What an ordeal – but all’s well that ends well – Charlie is safely in the hands of experts now and Kim and Rachel are both safe, thank god.

Not so good news as far as the Stalker goes though – Martha and Jack’s fantastic surprise party at my place was ruined when a mysterious video tape arrived. On it was a creepy montage of Detective Baker and Zoe’s laugh – I’m getting chills just thinking about it. Now everyone knows she’s back and it’s fair to say the town is in a panic – Colleen called me three times yesterday because she thought someone was outside her trailer (it turned out to be a cat).

Then during a town meeting a car exploded outside, yet still the police can tell us nothing – it’s like she’s a ghost, leaving no trace or fingerprints or anything. I’m so worried about my family – I thought it was all over after the fire last year and now it’s all happening again… We’ll get though it – I hope.

Closer to home I have grave doubts about Cassie’s relationship with Macca – something’s not right there – I feel she’s hiding something from me. Something about that water fight in the kitchen story didn’t add up… He seems like a fairly unpredictable young boy, but he is Martha’s brother so I’ll try to give him the benefit of the doubt – but I have a feeling things will get worse before they get better. It’s a shame Cassie and Ric are no longer together as I always felt they were a good couple – we’ll see! As long as they’re both safe and happy (as much as they can be with the Stalker on the loose), that’s all I can ask for.

Amanda is back and making a movie here in the Bay! Guess you can’t keep a good vixen down. She seems to have made an enemy in firey young Belle – those two remind me of each other so much – no wonder they’re locking horns!

Best be off – have to meet Mr Stewart to help install a new alarm system: Zoe fever I’m afraid… My intuition tells me things will be coming to a head next week – one way or the other!

Til next week!
Love Sally
