Fans will be delighted to hear that Todd Lasance (Aden Jefferies) is now a regular cast member so we can look forward to seeing more of his cheeky grin and some great flirty scenes with the gorgeous Tam Armstrong.
Just like his character Aden Jeffries, Todd Lasance is a good looking guy who knows what it’s like to shine on the sporting field. Before getting into acting, Todd initally wanted to get into sport, playing baseball, soccer, cricket, softball, footy and tennis for 12 years in his hometown of Newcastle. He was close to taking baseball to the next level.
‘My dad was an awesome soccer player so it’s a little bit in the genes,’ says Todd, ‘Yeah, it got pretty serious to the stage where I wanted to pursue it.’
When acting became his passion, Todd discarded his childhood dream of joining the police and his sporting ambitions, and after being spotted by an agent at a Sydney acting school Screenwise in Paddington, his passion for acting became a reality.
‘I had a guest role about two years ago on the show for a couple of months with Sharni,’ says Todd, then I worked on Blue Water High for a couple of guest roles, Blackjack with Colin Friels then McLeod’s Daughters.’
But ‘daunting and awesome’, as Todd describes it, was his role as Frat Boy in Fool’s Gold, working with Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, filmed in Port Douglas and Universal Studios in Hollywood.
This experience has given him a focus, 'I love TV but I really like the idea of getting into films, that's where I'd like to take it.' So perhaps we'll see him join Chris Hemsworth and the rest of the Home and Away entourage in Hollywood.
Todd has moved to Sydney and shares a beach-side apartment with Lincoln Lewis (who plays Geoff on the show). "Lincoln has just bought a couple of surf boards and I am going to do the same" he said.
‘I love going to the movies, but once summer comes I’ll go to the beach as much as I can, start to learn to surf, and that’ll take up most of my time.'
Todd loves travelling and has been to Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco and went to Mexico when he was 14. "It was a bit of an eye opener, it's a totally different world, it's cruel and the opposite to L.A. but it was good to experience it."
And he’s also a car nut, having just purchased a red Toyota Supra, the car of his dreams. ‘I am going to do work on it and make it absolutely, ridiculously fast,’ he says excitedly.
And he remembers vividly the day he got 'the call.'
‘I was with a couple of my mates and we were getting ready for a paintball day out in the bush. My agent rang me and was like what are you doing? I’m like playing paintball. He said that he’s got some good news, and I just lost it. It was a good day. I still remember it perfectly. It's not like work, I just feel so lucky to be part of it.’
Todd has an old brother (Chad), a beagle called Scooby and a girlfriend! (sorry girls)
