Belle feels her life is losing direction and turns to Irene for some words of wisdom.
It suddenly hits her that she doesn't know what she is doing with her life anymore.
Her friends have left Summer Bay and are busy getting on with their lives, Ric and Mattie are in Perth and Cassie is in America with her new baby girl, Summer Rose, leaving Belle to contemplate her future.
She has been so caught up with Aden over the past few months, that she has lost sight of what she needs. Now, facing up to her situation, fills her with anxiety.
"Here am I sitting in my room doing what exactly?" she says with a look of despair to Irene. "I don't know who I am anymore. I don't even know what I want. I used to be passionate about things, violently so sometimes, I used to want to make a difference." Irene listens patiently. "I used to tell people that I was a photographer, now I tell them what I really am which is a waitress" she says sadly.
Irene tells Belle that she can still be whatever she wants. "We shouldn't let go of our dreams" she says.
So how do we stay focused these days? Life is so fast paced and there are so many demands on our time, it's incredibly easy to just get caught up in the flow and suddenly wonder what you have been doing for the past 5 years.
Having goals and moving in your chosen direction is incredibly important if you want to live a happy and fulfilled life. Charlie has a vision board for her 5 year plan. Anything can be put on the board, pictures of where you want to visit overseas, the style of house you want, or car, the people you admire and would like to meet. You can take control and make your life happen the way you want it. Of course there will be tough times, but if you keep coming back to your goals, you will be amazed at what can be achieved.
Also, telling people about your dreams can help to open doors. Irene gives Belle a gift that really inspires her and re-ignites her passion.
If you have any dreams or good ways to achieve your goals, share them with us and the rest of the Home and Away fans by sending an email to homeandaway@seven.com.au, and put 'Keeping Dreams' in the subject line.
Barbara: I'm 20 years old and the most important thing in my life is to pursue my dreams. I come from a south american country (3 years ago) were the current situation is difficult, coming here wasn't easy, my family had to put everything they had to be able to afford my trip. Once I am here I am not leaving any opportunity behind, I am currently studying Biology and Zoology, my dream is to become a park ranger and a professional photographer, this is why I feel so identified with Belle. Every day is very hard for me, because I have to work and study at the same time, I pay my own fees which are also pretty high, so I don't have enough money to travel around. However I know my dreams are closer than they appear and some day they will be true. I wish I could travel one day to NSW and meet the home and away cast, I would love to meet Jessica Tovey and Todd Lansance, they are my favorite characters. Anyway my only advice for people that want to purse their dreams is to never give up, I know is hard but from my own experience, "you only lose when you stop fighting".
Amelia: Hi just writing to you to let you know my dream. My dream is to be an actress.I would luv to be on 'Home and Away'. It is my favorite programme ever. I love the storylines they are brilliant. I would luv to be a sister or a relation of Aden or any good part I would just luv to be on home and away.so if ya ever need a young girl to go on home and away i'm your girl!!!!!!xxx
Jessica: I have always been focused on goal achievement. I love striving hard for something and reaping the rewards for all the effort that I have put in. For my big dreams that feel so unreachable right now, I try and break it up in to small achievable steps. For example your dream may be to become an actor on Home and Away. To begin you will need to break it down to what you can achieve in the short term, such as be involved in drama at school, or join a drama school in your town.
Next you would be involved in a school play, or a town play depending on your confidence. You could then be involved in many plays and try and aim for bigger parts, you then might take an acting course. As your profile, experience, networks and passion grows you might find yourself in a position to finally achieve your dream. This is only an example, but I know that this method has helped me achieve my dreams in setting me up for my future career in occupational therapy!
Jassmine: My dream is to be on home and away my bestest show ever I love it so much I want to be Aden's sister or relation. Can't be his girl friend cause I've got a boy friend and he wouldn't like it but I want be on home and away so much even just for one night or a little bit plzzzzzzzzzz!!
Elysia: my ways, are to stay positive. dont think of problems, but think of what you will achieve and what will happen in the process.
Chloe: hey im just writing to tell you my dreams, i would love to be an actress, but ive been studying and doing courses for something else and im not really enjoying it, because i want to do things in acting but i know now with this course im doing i wont be able to afford it. i would love to be able to act as it would be a goal i would acheive but i dont think i will be able to, with that said i probably will keep dreaming,i dont have any ways that i can achieve this goal as yet, but i thought i would i write and share with you all thank you and keep up the good work.
Amanda: I believe a good way to achieve goals is to basically strive for it, put that little extra effort into things that might get you one step closer to achieving your goal & also when you feel stressed or pained for trying, just think of the benefits that might come out of succeeding.... Also, DON'T GIVE UP! I know everyone's heard it like a million time before, but its true. One day, your goal will be true and you will be satisfied for such an achievement accomplished! I'm talking from experience...
