A Day To Remember

Sam looked on in horror as Jack's ex-wife Martha, stood before her in the beautiful dress she was planning to wear on her wedding day! Fortunately Pallas Bride in Paddington were able to rescue the situation by giving Sam another stunning dress to wear on her special day. (They also designed the dress Martha tried on.)

Anticipating the rush of questions we will get from fans, we spoke to Costume Designer Shelley Murray. "This is a very traditional wedding so we chose a dress made of crushed silk organza. It has been hand pleated to give a light fluffy effect." she explained. "It's fitted to the hips and kicks out at the bottom with a four tiered train. The bodice is strapless and covered with beautiful hand applique lace, pearl and crystal." The pearl cluster drop earings are also from Pallas and before you ask, they also designed the first dress which made Jack's jaw drop when he saw it on Martha.

We asked Jessica (Sam) about her dress. "I tried on four and this was my favourite." She admitted that it felt a bit strange pretending to get married, but didn't think this would be her style of wedding, so it didn't spoil anything. It was however, very difficult to get into the dress as it had to go over her head due to all the 'boning' in the back. "I felt a bit claustrophobic at one stage" she smiled. The pain was obviously worth it, because when Sam steps out the the car, young Rory is overwhelmed when he sees his beautiful mum.

The 'princess look' completed the vision, with soft curls swept up to one side with a finger wave at the front. Frosty soft pale colours by MAC, cleopatra eyeliner and soft light glossy lips gave the finishing touch.

The green silk halter-neck bridesmaids dresses worn by Rachel and Matilda are from Leona Edmonson and the shoes are from Zu. The guests also looked gorgeous, so head to Katherine for Leah's lemon silk shift, Hussy for Sally's hot pink silk chiffon hankerchief dress and Blue Juice for Annie cute floral dress.

Of course the flowers must work with the romantic theme and Sam's bouquet included Ranunculus, Blushing Bride (a native) Piris, Sweet Pea and pale pink Roses. The bridesmaides carried pink Ranunculus, Roses, Cordelyne leaves, Piris and Camilia folage. Whilst Crabapple blossom, Delphinium, Roses and Jasmine were used throughout the church. So will they or won't they? We can't reveal what happens at Sam and Jack's wedding, but it wouldn't be Summer Bay without a few dramas! You can see a sneak peek of our day on location at the wedding. We have also put together a special wedding picture gallery.
