What happened in the week October 30 – November 3 (episodes 4306 – 4310)

Check in here every week to see what Sal thinks of all things Summer Bay… Email your feedback to homeandaway@seven.com.au

Hello Everyone,

Well, Lee certainly shook things up this week. She popped up out of nowhere and then before we knew what was happening, she popped out a beautiful baby boy. Now she’s on the run again!

Lucas tells me that Lee was just starting to connect with her baby and thinking about not putting him up for adoption when her boyfriend, Dane, came back and said he wanted nothing to do with ‘it’. Apparently she’s run off with him because the cops have found Dane’s stash of stolen goods and Lee’s wanted for shoplifting. Everyone’s really worried because she may have a post-partum haemorrhage and Lucas, Belle and Kim found blood spots at the house where she was staying.

They’ve called the cops now, so there’s nothing more we can do but wait. Kim and Rachel have dubbed the baby ‘Joe’ and I think Rachel’s become quite attached to him. It must be hard for a couple who can’t have a baby to see someone give up theirs so easily.

It hasn’t been easy for Beth this week to give up wanting to control certain aspects of Matilda’s life. She loves Matilda so much and is afraid that she’ll repeat her own mistakes that she tried to ban her from seeing Ric.

Tony discovered Beth’s been so worried because she was Matilda’s age when she met her first husband, Jack, and was married with kids on the way at 18. She doesn’t regret it, but she doesn’t want Mattie to miss out on some things like she did (Mattie being hurt accidentally by one of Ric’s friends whilst out at the Surf Club didn’t exactly help either). She’s given them her blessing now, though, and I’m sure they won’t abuse it.

I don’t want to say too much, because nothing’s really happened yet, but there might be another relationship in the Bay soon. This week Brad and I talked about our feelings for each other for the first time. Brad’s car was rammed off the road by someone – we think it was Johnny – and Brad was injured. The silly duffer wouldn’t go to hospital so I insisted on treating his wounds. I think the physical proximity tipped us over the edge and we finally talked about the tension between us. Anyway, I don’t want to say anything more except that after watching Flynn’s video one more time, I feel I’m ready to move on and love again. It’s what Flynn wanted for me and Emily wanted for Brad.

In other news, I just found out that Peter hasn’t really gone off to a fishing trip with his mates, but has gone to Amanda’s house instead. She’s offered to help him beat his pain killer addiction, which is actually quite a nice thing to do. I wonder if he’ll tell her it was Drew who wrote ‘skank’ on her car. She probably already guessed…

Drew and Belle seem to have repaired their friendship a little with their mutual hatred of Amanda. Belle is still refusing to forgive her and really, I can’t blame her. Amanda still has a lot of work to do to prove she’s a good person.

Martha and Ash had a date this week. Silly Ash wore board shorts with a tie and jacket because he said he wasn’t sure if Martha would want a formal or casual date. Alf’s warned her about Ash’s past (Tony told him he’s been very, very unreliable at times), but Martha is convinced he’s changed since then. We’ll see I guess…

Jack’s learning more and more about his physio, Sam, too. She started telling him about her 10 year old, but when asked her about her husband, she snapped at him. A little later she apologised and revealed to Jack that her husband is in gaol – imprisoned for embezzling company funds to pay for trying to find a cure for their first child’s rare disorder. Sam ended up losing her daughter, then her husband and now all she has is her son. Poor girl, it’s fantastic she’s still so positive.

Well, that’s it for me this week. Talk to you all soon.

Love Sally.
