What happened in the week October 9 – October 13 (episodes 4291 – 4295)

Check in here every week to see what Sal thinks of all things Summer Bay… Email your feedback to homeandaway@seven.com.au

Hello Everyone,

OK, I can’t 100% confirm this yet because I haven’t actually seen him with my own two eyes, but I have this strong hunch that the man who abducted Drew is none other than Peter Baker, Drew’s father. We all thought Peter was dead, but it just makes sense that he would be the one.

See, Jack was working late at the station the other night when he rang his partner Fitzy and left a message telling her that he’d figured out who’s been terrorising Drew, but before he could say who it was, the phone suddenly went dead. A little later, McGrath found poor Jack lying motionless on the floor. He’d been beaten senseless!

It’s horrible. Jack could lose the use of his legs and Rachel can’t operate until they find a donor with the same rare blood type. That’s when we started to think Peter Baker might be alive. Remember how Jack has Peter’s liver inside him? Well, it’s just not possible according to Rachel because Peter’s blood type is listed in Drew’s file and it’s not the same as Jack’s!

With Jack’s life hanging in the balance, the last thing we needed to hear was that Drew had been abducted. He’s been having a very hard time of late, the poor kid, having finally realised that Amanda wasn’t in love with him and then being berated by a very angry Belle for his affair with her mother. That’s right, Amanda finally got round to confessing everything to Belle. Anyway, Drew packed his bags and was on his way out of the Bay when someone saw him being pushed into a car. With another car in pursuit!

I just have this feeling that Peter’s been in Witness Protection or something and has come back to the Bay to save his son. Soon I think we’ll be saying hi to an old friend which is nice because we’ve just had to say goodbye to two of our loved ones.

Robbie and Tasha have left Summer Bay for a new life in Boston. Robbie was found guilty, but the judge decided that in this case the law is flawed and Robbie allowed his grandfather to depart with dignity. Therefore, Robbie could go free!

Back at home, Tasha and Robbie talked about the amazing offer they’d received from Josie in Boston, which included plane tickets, and decided that after everything they’d been through, it was time for a fresh start. Everyone was sad to see them go, but they all pitched in to get them packed, realising what a wonderful opportunity it is for them.

There have been some other new beginnings this week. It seems Lucas and Belle have gotten together and so have Ric and Matilda. Macca, of all people, helped those last two get together. Apparently he overheard Ric and Cassie talking about how Matilda got flustered when Ric told her he liked her, so Macca went and had a word with Mattie. He told her how it’s always very brave when someone declares their feelings for another (like Cassie did to him) and I think his words struck deep. Matilda’s not quite so afraid of a relationship anymore and I wouldn’t be surprised if she patched things up with Cass…

I think I might go now, I need a bit of a rest after this week and Brad and I haven’t exactly been seeing eye-to-eye over the new kid in school, Rocco. I know Rocco has a history of bad behaviour, but he really wants a new chance at a good life and I’m determined to help him, even if Brad is sceptical.

Love Sally.
