Farewell Robbie and Tash!

Two of Summer Bay's faves, Robbie and Tash, have left the Bay!

She was the angel who fell to earth and he was the boy who caught her. Robbie and Tash’s unique personalities and loving relationship captured our hearts and minds for three years in sunny Summer Bay, and now it’s with a heart full of memories that we bid them farewell as they head off to Boston to live with Josie. We were lucky enough to be on set for Isabel’s last scene, and we can assure you there wasn’t a dry eye in the house by the time the speeches were over! “I wasn’t really expecting to be so emotional about leaving,” admits Isabel. “It’s hard to say goodbye but I’m ready to move on. It might sound like a cliché, but I’m ready for a new chapter.”

Yep, Jason and Isabel are both off to pursue exciting new things. For the wise-cracking Jason that involves a trip to LA to try his hand at the tough audition circuit there, while Isabel is leaving on a jet plane to first go backpacking in Europe and then catch up with family in Switzerland – “it’s not all planned, I like the idea of traveling spontaneously and not having everything mapped out.” Then she’s leaving the chilly Alps and excellent chocolate behind to head to Namibia in Africa to volunteer with an organization called OzQuest – she tells us she’ll even be working rehabilitating sick lions and cheetahs! Sounds right up Isabel’s alley to us! “The best thing about the show has been being in a in a position where I’ve had have the potential to influence others,” explains the activist-minded Isabel. “I’ve felt it important to represent the things I’m passionate about like protecting the environment. Some other causes I’ve been involved with includes Planet Ark, WWF, World Vision and Amnesty.”

From Summer Bay to the wild African plains: it certainly will be a change from three years in the one small town – but what a three years it was! From Tash being mistaken for a mermaid when she first arrived, to Robbie surviving the freak Summer Bay cyclone; from Tasha being brainwashed by Mumma Rose and the Believers, to the joy and pain of having baby Ella, to the kidnapping scare involving Charity, and finally the stress of Robbie’s trial… Tash’s time in the Bay certainly hasn’t been for the faint-hearted. “Home and Away has been a luscious learning ground for me,” agrees Isabel. “The opportunity to work with wonderful Australian directors and being able to have a continuous creative outlet is a blessing - there aren’t a lot of opportunities for Australian actors at the moment in this country. Genevieve Mooy and Andrea Moore our drama coaches have always been so encouraging and have challenged me to grow to new levels.”

We certainly are going to miss the stable presence of two of our favourite characters, Robbie and Tash, in the rollercoaster ride of Home and Away – and we’re not the only ones! Isabel isn’t alone in naming Jason as the person who makes her laugh the most – no doubt the entire crew will miss his cheeky wit to get them through their long days on set! “I’m really thankful for the time I had on the show,” says Isabel. “Not only have I learnt a lot but I’ve made gold friendships and will take with me many memories. Jason is like a brother to me - I’m so fortunate to have worked with him for 3 years solid – he’s a very special soul.”

And the part she won’t miss? “I certainly won’t miss the 5am starts!” she smiles. There’s no doubt the talented Isabel and Jason won’t be resting on their laurels in the future – we predict these two have a very bright future ahead of them. Goodbye Tasha and Robbie – we’ll miss you!

Alexandra (15) My favourite Tash & Robbie moment would have to be when they got married or when they did the nudie run through the bush! That was a classic! I will really miss seeing Isabel "Tash" Lucas and Jason "Robbie" Smith. I have loved both of them since they first started on the show. Good Luck guys, stay safe and we all love you here! xoxox.

Chloe (15) Perth - Goodbye Isabel & Jason (or Tasha & Robbie which you've probably gotten used too!)
I'm going to miss watching you on Home and Away. I have watch nearly every single episode and almost have to bribe my parents to let me watch it while I'm having dinner. I love watching Tasha & Robbie sticking together no matter what happens. My Fave H&A part would most have to be when Tasha & Robbie got married both the first one and the second one. Goodbye, Good Luck & Best Wishes for your backpacking Isabel and your auditions Jason. Have fun and treasure all the memories you have. We'll miss you!!!

You seem to be my knight,
rescuing me from despair,
my life just seems so bright, with you just being there,
I cannot imagine my days,
if I could not see your smile,
they would be so cold,
my life a haze,
without you life isn't as worthwhile...
I wrote this poem 2 years ago. about Jason/Robbie. Yes it may seem weird to write about someone you don't even know, but it wasn't like that for me. I was bullied a lot in my earlier years of high school. I was not a happy person. But then that wonderful larrikin Robbie Hunter showed up on our screens. He was something I could look forward to everyday. I could come home and even seeing him the credits made me smile. yes this may sound creepy but he made me laugh, and seeing him everyday on TV was a good thing I knew I could look forward to when I’d had a bad day. so I just want to say thank you. your talent has touched me and you will be sadly missed. and though I have moved passed the bad days you still rock! thanks you for being so kind to me when I met you. I know you will go even further in the future!
goodbye Jason you will be missed by many, but good luck!
love Sam

Surf_sup13 - Tasha and Robbie were my favourite on the show and now they r both gone. Do think they will ever be back? I hope so. If not will Isabel do more acting? Isabel shares the two biggest things in my life: animal conservation and acting. Well ill miss them both even though I know they r probably already off on their trips :(. I'll miss looking up what’s been happening 2 them on the H&A website in commerce. Plus if I could look like anyone it would be a cross between Isabel Lucas and Gwynth Paltrow. BYE Tasha/Isabel and Robbie/Jason.

Molly Clarke - Isabel and Jason, love ya so much, will miss you every night at 7. Hope you have a great life after Home and Away, good luck in the future, sure well see you both on T.V sometime in the future. Thanks for making my nights so much fun, will miss u heeps.

Neil: Just want to thank you both for giving us some great moments over the last three years, and wish you well in all the plans for the future.
Isabel, you had some really tough scenes and storylines over that time, and your acting was just phenomenal - emotions conveyed so fully that one has to stop and think to realise that's it's not all actually happening. You have such talent, and your plans for the future may see you heading in a very different direction (such as the aid work in Africa), but I'm sure you can be great at whatever you set your mind to. Will genuinely miss seeing you on the show, and look forward to hearing of you for years to come.
Jason, you're a top guy who did such a great job of Robbie's role, also totally believable. It has been interesting to see how your character matured over time, and I guess you did personally at the same time. Best of luck in LA.
That last episode was pretty emotional for us as viewers too - like saying goodbye to family members. Thanks for being such great young people who have given your audience so much pleasure. Enjoy every minute of what life has in store for you, Take care.

Madhurima Sen - omg!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was so shocked to hear that isabel lucas and jason smith are leaving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i loved you both and would like to wish you both a very bright and happy future. you are really going to be missed, not only by me, but by all the other home and away fans out there! i am from nz, so we are a bit behind, and i would really like to see what happens....
i loved the bit where after tasha came back from the believers, and robbie was trying to find tasha's (bracelet?) in the sink, then they started falling in live again. it was sooo cute!! anyways, my friend olivia got me hooked on the show, and i am very saddened to hear the news, but also happy for both of you!!! could you please say hi to me????? only because it would me an AWESOME birthday present. my birthday is on monday 16 october, and i'm turning 14!! LOVE YOU HEAPS!!!

Anthea - I will miss you both, your a great role model to the kids/teen ages of Australia.
Jason I wish you luck and you will get what you want. You have that great smile and down to earth outlook.
Isabel, you are doing exactly what I would like to do. Go girl, you don't rely on you looks (your so beautiful) you look beneath and that's what is so important. I am 37 years old and studying Counseling as I want to help others. I volunteered for help in Asia for the tsunami but was told I didn't have the credentials that they needed at the time. My time will come where I am able to give. I will miss you and all the best, you are both treasures.
Lots of love to you.
